angelhands offers a Living in Freedom Forever (LIFE) program

This information is for professionals who may be considering referring women.

Prevention of violence in future relationships depends a great deal on what interventions are available to women upon leaving or contemplation of leaving abusive relationships.

Healing and recovering from traumatic experiences is a significant determinant in prevention of future violence.  The ten session LIVING IN FREEDOM FOREVER (LIFE) group program is designed to not only work through the severe and disempowering experience of feeling like an emotional hostage in domestic abuse but to reduce women’s vulnerability to further abusive relationships and post separation violence.

Each session explores ten women’s resilience and existing strengths whilst providing much needed information about the dynamics and effects of domestic abuse on her emotional and physical wellbeing.  Every session (SEE PROGRAM OUTLINE) builds important building blocks of information and activities that work to restore health to her mind, body and spirit.  In a group setting context, participants can listen to other individual experiences which enable a deeper understanding of the extent of this social problem as well as reduce isolation.  The primary goal of this program is to increase and develop stronger emotional resilience so that women become empowered to see the signs and indications of future potential abusive relationships in order to avoid entering another abusive set of circumstances.
