Carrie is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, admitted since 2000, and has diverse experience in law, including with the Aboriginal Legal Service, Aboriginal Family Law Services, the Department of Public Prosecutions and in private practice. Carrie has worked substantially in both metro and remote areas of WA, and has eleven years’ experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians in both law and the public service; she is currently Senior Executive Officer at the Women’s Law centre of WA, and manages a team of staff and volunteers who assist victims of family and domestic violence. Carrie has a comprehensive understanding of the needs of disadvantaged women and is committed to the empowerment, to the advancement of justice, safety and to upholding gender and cultural equality.
