Outstanding Contribution

During my years of employment I acquired many skills that I felt could still be of use to the community once I retired. As a School Registrar my reporting responsibilities covered the day-to-day financial, physical and human resource aspects of the business operations and supervision of staff. Through the years I received numerous training in computer databases, financial and asset management and completed TAFE subjects on Accounting to Trial Balance, Managing Effective Working Relationships, Job Recruitment, Selection & Training, Budgeting, Managing People – Workplace Practice and Performance Management. I trained as an Equal Employment Opportunity Contact Officer, Sexual Harassment Contact Officer and for a while, was District Co-ordinator for the Union and Registrar’s Association.

After retiring I looked at the Volunteering WA website for volunteers in administration and decided to apply to angelhands. Since becoming a volunteer, I have been involved in planning and creating our new Keyword AAA Filing System and setting up various practices that support the operation of the wonderful work that angelhands undertakes to help victims of crime and serious personal violence.
