Angelhands is pleased to announce that we will be holding the “From Surviving to Thriving Retreat Program” twice this year!
The “From Surviving to Thriving Retreat Program” is a residential retreat run over a weekend with a small group of people affected by violence. The purpose of the retreat is to provide participants with support (both professional and peer support) by having the opportunity to meet with other people in similar situations.
Participants are given access to information about the services available to them and during the retreat, participants are invited to engage in a number of activities designed to encourage the development of self awareness and self care. These activities, which are provided by volunteers, include such things as massage, reiki, spiritual healing, facials, hand massage, and the like, and a spa is available for use by participants.
Overwhelmingly people who have attended the retreats found them to be very helpful with benefits listed as an increase in health and well-being, enhancement of interpersonal skills and relationship building.
Have you been affected by violent crime at any time in your life? Are you tired and never seem to get a chance to take care of you? If so this retreat is for you!
