Hi everyone,

we would like to hear your thoughts on what professionals could be educated about in order to assist them to better meet the needs of victims of crime.

Please post all you ideas (don't be shy) so we can direct them to the relevant places.

Therefore please tell us:
  • what professional/ role you are referring to
what you think they should learn about
why you think they shoul know it i.e. what would be the benefit to victims of crime?
[/list]
Thanks

Cheers

Ann

There is a national rally at 11a.m. on Sunday May 3 calling for changes to the way the Family Court deals with children in cases where domestic violence or sexual abuse are issues.

There is also a petition circulating calling for these changes. The petition is available at http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/family-court-of-australia-amendments.html

There is more information about the rallies at:

There will also be a series of Youtube vidoes, one released each day in the leadup to the rally. Parents stories told by actors, professionals speaking about the system is failing to keep children safe and journalist talking about how they have been unable to cover the issues due to blanket clauses in the Family Law Act.
